Laura is primarily a hand builder and works with soft slabs of stoneware clay. She textures her slabs with imprints of utility meters and random objects that create interesting narratives. The textured clay slab is then formed into lamp bases, vases, trays, drinking vessels and wall hangings. Her finished glaze work seeks to represent the impression(s) whether it has a distressed appearance or an appealing translucent color. Laura's completed works are functional and invite familiarity and conversation.
