Coaxial

mixed media and steel wire

My sculpture facilitates my obsession and fascination with problem solving, the fabrication process and the rendition of textures and materials.

My background is rooted in architecture and that experience influences my methodology and approach. Each work is unique in that it invites you, the viewer, to interact with it. The abstract or biomorphic forms in most instances, are freestanding, have limited surface contact, and can be repositioned. The repositioning might possibly create alternative interpretations of what is being observed. I purposely plan something that has visual or physical dynamic balance. My inspiration is derived from architecture and nature; the human form and/or anatomy, aquatic life, plants, food, or combinations of each. In some instances, the materials and textures are replications and in others an unexpected result.
