I am a multidisciplinary artist. Mainly focusing at the moment on acrylic paintings through abstract expressionism and live painting performances. Evolving use of abstraction allows me to capture a practice of observation and interaction. The works have their origin, primarily, in live painting events ‘Canvas Vibrations’ that are held throughout DC, Maryland, and Virginia. I returned to larger canvases to explore a dialogue and symbology of perceived experiences. It did not begin with a pre-established method for the creation, but encouraged participation and interaction with audiences and other performing artists. What was revealed on the canvas constantly evolved over the course of an evening. By not committing to any temporary perception, but practicing the art of opening up to constantly change the experience. As well, currently, working out of a studio based in Arlington and developing new approaches and dialogues on canvas.
