Acrylic drip

My creativity, overall, is a search for joy. I love the freedom of painting abstraction. A prolific, self taught painter, my studio is chocked full of large and small very colorful, vibrant paintings made of various mediums including acrylic and oil. I consider my studio a playhouse and enjoy working on large surfaces, dripping fluid acrylic paint and spraying water and manipulating the pigment as it moves. I usually work against a wall with a tarp underneath me. If I'm working in oil or oil sticks over dried acrylic I usually use my easel. The drip paintings that are a signature of my style are done quickly, in the moment and aggressively to take advantage of the luscious paint before it dries. When I paint with oil or heavy body acrylic out of the tube - thick texture, open gestural movement, vibrant color and bravura brushstrokes make up the compositions. Layering up quirky collage pieces with various materials are also part of my artistic journey.
