Dreamer, 2021

I work primarily with acrylics and paper; I paint with inks on paper, on transparent materials and on wood panels currently. I make artworks inspired by landscape, human and animal biology and ideas of growth in the universe. Themes surrounding the survival of the human spirit have played a central role in my work for many years. By combining gestural drawing, saturated color, and organic forms, I create lively and meticulously structured abstract artworks. The survival of the human spirit continues to be a central theme in my work. My imagery often simultaneously suggests oppositions such as lightness and darkness, and the macrocosmic and the microcosmic in scale. Within these serious themes, I strive for an ebullience that offers spiritual renewal.
