Robbie Namy
French Can-Can
Mixed, collage, oil and acrylic
My artistic process is a continuous renewal of past experiences, where freedom with palette knives, wedges, rollers, and other tools leads to unexpected and intriguing outcomes. Lately, I've been delving into collage, incorporating newspaper clippings, wrapping paper, fragments of my own work, and even found objects. I see potential in everything!
With a professional career spanning over three decades, I've also worked as a graphic designer and jewelry artist. Design is a dynamic interplay of color, shape, negative space, texture, and typography—principles that seamlessly translate into fine art. Currently, my work is featured in a poster exhibition themed "Tolerance," a resonant topic in today's world.
I draw inspiration from Robert H. White, a member of the Baltimore Realist Group, as well as the late Russian artists Nicolas Tarkhoff and Nicolas de Staël.
