I seek to make beautiful, simple, and colorful vessels that are useful for a variety of purposes.  For surface design I find the subtleties of color and form in the natural world compelling. Nature -- in my garden, in the grocery store, weeds growing up through fences, and plants in the patches of forests in my neighborhood -- is joyfully inspiring, and it is my hope and motivation to replicate in the surface design of my ceramic pieces and in my drawings and paintings the natural beauty I see around me.
