Jenny Kanzler is an oil painter whose subject matter is best described as magical realism. Her imagery centers on tragicomic narratives, employing the uncanny to explore fear and humor through visual metaphor and folklore. Kanzler holds an MFA in Painting from the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts (2005) and a BA in Sculpture from Syracuse University (1997). She has exhibited at the Smithsonian’s National Portrait Gallery; The Painting Center in NYC; and the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts Museum as well as the Rodger LaPelle Gallery in Philadelphia.
