I enjoy painting in several different mediums – acrylic, oil, pastel and gouache – and in two different styles: abstract and traditional impressionism. My acrylic abstracts are influenced by street art and are highly layered and textured. A recent local solo show of my abstracts resulted in a commission for a large-scale (2 paintings enlarged to 10 ft x 10 ft) public art installation in Crystal City. In my more traditional works in oil, pastel and gouache, I paint impressionistically and with intense colors. My cityscapes are imbued with the pulsating energy of cities, especially New York. I also enjoy painting landscapes of gardens and flowers with brilliant pinks and purples. As a lifelong beach lover, in my seascapes, I strive to create a soothing mood through the colors of ocean and sky. I also paint portraits of all types of youth sports, which capture action and drama.
