Much like the cubists flattening of space, I am interested in the flattening of time. The paintings engage poetics of geometry and design through the collision of gestural lines, form, color / black & white, and layered imagery. These set up the tensions between opposing paradigms of structure and change. Visuals are in conversation with one another as investigations into the experience and time within the process of intuitive creation. Abstraction allows for the compositions to reflect unknown circumstance including memory of the past, experiencing the present and not knowing the future.
