I seek to express the endurance and serenity found in historic Japanese and Asian architecture through sculpture. Visiting centuries old buildings filled me with awe and wonder at the strength found in iconic “Minka” (houses of the people) and “Takadoro” (lighthouses). The ongoing conversation between warmly worn historical construction and the today’s brilliantly angular buildings is cathartic and evokes hopeful inspiration for tranquility in an otherwise chaotic world.
